From photo to profit in 5 steps. Here's how to get real value out of PicZFlip on your first session.

  1. Snap a photo

Good photos = accurate scans. Here's what works:

    • Good lighting — natural light near a window is best. Avoid harsh direct sun or deep shadows.
    • Clear the frame — make sure the item is the only thing in the shot. No background clutter.
    • Get close — fill the frame with the item. The AI can identify it better when it's the main subject.
    • Multiple angles help — for complex items (electronics, furniture), two angles are better than one.
    • Capture labels — brand tags, model numbers, and stamps dramatically improve accuracy.

Tip: We show a photo quality score after every scan. If it's "low," retake the photo — don't guess.

  2. Tap "What's it worth?"

After uploading your photo, tap the big "What's it worth?" button. The AI analyzes the image and searches recent eBay sold prices simultaneously.

Results typically come back in 5–15 seconds depending on server load. You'll see:

    • Item name and brand
    • Flip score (0–10 profitability rating)
    • Resale value range (low–high)
    • 3 recent eBay sold comparables with prices
    • Confidence level (high / medium / low)
    • Photo quality score + retake suggestions if low
  3. Read your results

Here's what each part of the result means:

    • Flip score 7–10: Great flipping candidate. High demand, solid margins, moves quickly.
    • Flip score 4–6: Decent candidate. Could work but needs the right buyer. Lower urgency.
    • Flip score 1–3: Low resale demand. Might still be worth listing if you got it cheap.
    • Resale range: Realistic selling window based on recent eBay solds. Not the asking price, what people actually paid.
    • eBay comps: Click to see the full comparable listings — condition, sold date, price.

If the confidence is low, the AI is uncertain. A blurry photo or unusual item can trigger this. Retake the photo for better results.

  4. Generate your listing

Tap "Create Listing" after a scan to generate a full listing draft for eBay or Facebook Marketplace:

    • Catchy title optimized for search
    • Detailed description with brand, condition, measurements
    • Suggested pricing from the scan data
    • Condition notes and any flaws

Copy it, paste it to your marketplace, add your photos, and publish. The listing is yours to edit however you like.

You can also share the scan result as a link — useful if you want to show a buyer exactly what you found.

  5. Track your finds

After signing up, your scan history is saved automatically. Use it to:

    • Review past scans — see every item you've scanned and its value estimate
    • Track your profit potential — add what you paid and what you sold it for to calculate margins
    • Share scans — every scan gets a shareable link so you can flex or get a second opinion
    • Filter by category — sort your history to focus on specific types of items

Free accounts get 5 scans per day. Pro accounts get unlimited scans and advanced analytics.
